The young Iranian artist presents her photographs at the 29 Arts in progress gallery. The protagonists of her shots are women, children and all the invisible relegated to the furthest geographical and social borders.

Refined and powerful, the first solo exhibition of the young Iranian artist <a href="https://www.instagram.com/farnazdamnabi/?hl=it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Farnaz Damnabi</a> will be presented from 23 May to 28 July 2023 at 29 Arts in progress gallery in <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/milan-fashion-week-news-and-mens-fashion-shows-spring-summer-2024" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Milan</a>. The exhibition, entitled 'UNVEILED' offers a selection of works that tell and pay homage to the Iranian female identity in the routine of women, mothers and workers. In a historical moment in which the country is facing a civil rights crisis, an exhibition arrives that goes straight to the stomach, or to the heart.
The shots highlight the lack of values such as <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/un-makes-scary-alert-about-gender-equality" target="_blank" rel="noopener">equality,</a> value and freedom, but also discrimination in the labour market, the gender gap in wages and the lack of recognition of their silent but essential contribution in economic and artisan sectors, such as the harvesting of saffron in the fields of Torbat Heydarieh or the production of carpets.
In the most recent series Be like a Butterfly, the artist documents the attempt of new generations of women to improve their condition. Among his most famous reports are those dedicated to children: the shots, in addition to showing the difficulties of a childhood spent in this country, show the magic that children can find even in the most adverse contexts.
In the series Pardis (Paradise), Damnabi also documents the experiment of the new city built a few kilometers from Tehran: born with the intention of reversing the migration of the more densely populated cities, the massive construction of new buildings has led to the devastation of the mountain<a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/hommes/the-future-of-the-oceans" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> ecosystem</a> and the destruction of its natural habitat.
Damnabi's photographs, delicate and powerful at the same time, are representative of the reality of Iran and invite us to reflect and hope.
