Thurman first grabs audience's attention in the 1988 film "The Dangerous Liaisons" by Stephen Frears, working side by side with established stars such as Glenn Close, John Malkovich, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The actress' dance performace in "Pulp Fiction" (1994) alongside John Travolta is now part of film history. In the cult classic written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, she plays Mia Wallace, the wife of Marsellus Wallace.

Thurman is the sexy villain Poison Ivy and enemy of George Clooney's Batman in the superhero movie "Batman & Robin" in 1997.

In the movie "Gattaca" (1997), Thurman stars alongside her ex-husband Ethan Hawke, playing the role of Irene Cassini.
