FirstName, the Alboran group&#39;s new establishment has just opened in the Mériadeck district of Bordeaux with the JdV by Hyatt label. A concept that favors above all a convivial and benevolent art of living. Visit.

What is a &ldquo;Feel good&rdquo; hotel? To answer this question, the team behind FirstName Bordeaux has a host of responses. And not just ready-made language elements. Because with the launch of this first<a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/travel/conrad-rabat-arzana-a-new-luxury-hotel-in-the-capital-of-the-kingdom" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> luxury hotel</a>, friendly and well established in its social and economic environment, the Alboran group intends to offer a hotel industry &ldquo;differently&rdquo;. As Yann Caill&egrave;re, one of the three partners in this business, points out : &ldquo;a hotel industry in tune with the new world, designed to create the best memories". And to launch this new kind of hotel, Alboran chose the M&eacute;riadeck district. This part of Bordeaux , saved from insalubrity by a renovation program decided in the 1960s by Jacques Chaban-Delmas, is a model of architectural achievement in the modernist style, typical of this era when concrete was king. A very conceptual place, however, where commercial and administrative buildings are next to homes, gardens, an ice rink, the central library... In short, a world apart, just two minutes on foot from the town hall, the Saint-Andr&eacute; cathedral and the magnificent collection of 18th century mansions listed as World Heritage by Unesco.

The building chosen to house FirstName Bordeaux is an astonishing monument in the shape of a cross which once housed an insurance company. More than 6500m2 of surface area to accommodate, on seven levels, 147 bright rooms and suites, many of which have a terrace. We enter the hotel through a green airlock which leads us, after a flight of steps, into a vast space that unfolds around the Bada <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/ibiza/five-enchanting-restaurants-in-ibiza-town" target="_blank" rel="noopener">restaurant</a>. The raw concrete of the origins allows decorators to play with volumes and materials in order to create a diversity of living spaces. With, for leitmotif, conviviality. This is underlined by the decorator Nicolas Adnet, of the architectural studio MHNA (Marc Hertrich-Nicolas Adnet): "FirstName Bordeaux is a hotel like no other, thought of as a place of experiences and connections, inspired by the subliminal evocation of Bordeaux, its culture and traditions, its urban character and its natural anchorage, between land and sea. &raquo;
We totally adhere to this vision of an establishment that both surprises and seduces by the audacity of its choices, whether that be the decoration or the atmosphere.

The flavours of Bada
The Bada restaurant-bar offers a confrontation between natural and urban worlds, between concrete and light with, on the walls, squares of cork in reference to the omnipresent Bordeaux vineyards... A reference that can be found in the cuisine of chef C&eacute;dric Bechade. Formerly at the H&ocirc;tel du Palais in Biarritz, the starred chef-innkeeper of the Auberge Basque in the Pyr&eacute;n&eacute;es Atlantiques is a fierce supporter of locavore cuisine where simplicity often meets audacity. On the menu, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/food/best-restaurants-tapas-bars-barcelona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">oysters</a> from the Basin smoked with maritime pine, hot and cold line-caught hake with sea lettuce, Prince Noir de Biscay pig cheek braised in red Lillet, corn pannacotta... A gastronomic adventure all in flavours in an atmosphere of frank conviviality very "feelgood"...

A refined and elegant decoration The rooms and suites illustrate the efforts of the architect-decorators to make the most of interior volumes. We are here in a very successful approach which consists in combining comfort and efficiency. Elegant furniture with clean lines (designed by Nicolas Adnet), with a maximum of eco-designed and even recycled elements...The corner rooms with their large bay windows are an invitation to discover, from the heights, this amazing district of Bordeaux. No more sad and ugly mini-bars which, in addition, took up space in the room: on all floors, kitchenette areas offer drinks and snacks to enjoy on the spot or to take away. And if you fancy a coffee, you can prepare it with a selection of exceptional coffees roasted by the Alchimist team, as part of the Darwin ecosystem, on the other side of the river. Of course, FirstName Bordeaux has not escaped the fashion for Speakeasy, the famous hidden bar. Here, it hides behind a Bordeaux wardrobe and reveals a completely stunning decoration born from the imagination and personal memories of Nicolas Adnet. A must for parties and private events...
