By the end of October, Ibiza has changed its rhythm. The beach clubs have closed, the summer crowds have departed, and the roads that once carried a constant flow of visitors grow quieter. In the villages, the island returns to a more intimate pace. There is space to hear the wind move through the pines, to notice the first autumn storms gathering over the sea, and to feel what has been waiting beneath the noise of summer.

Enter Samhain, the ancient seasonal threshold marking the transition into the darker half of the year. Traditionally associated with endings, remembrance and the thinning of the veil between worlds, it is a time to honour what has passed and trust what has yet to take shape.

Astrologically, we are in a liminal void of five retrograde planets. A retrograde is an apparent backward motion in the sky, traditionally associated with reflection, review and revisiting unfinished business. Mercury and Venus are particularly prominent, both sitting between the Earth and the Sun, amplifying their lessons in our lives. Mercury governs communication and perspective; Venus speaks to love, relationships and self-worth.

If you feel like you are in limbo, or in psychological Subterranea, that’s right on time. Relationships have been tested, perspectives have shifted, and familiar versions of ourselves may no longer fit. This is all part of the rebirth of your authentic self. Trust it and don’t rush it.

Jupiter and the South Node’s conjunction in Leo at Samhain brings another layer to this process. The South Node represents patterns and attachments we are being asked to release, while Jupiter amplifies whatever it touches. Together in Leo, the sign associated with identity, creativity and personal power, they can expose corrupt power dynamics and act as an ego purge, leading to a ‘clarity after the storm’ dynamic as the veil drops to reveal the truth.

These planets’ close proximity to Mars in Leo, the planet of action and drive, creates a strong yang energy, leading you into November with authentic truth.

As the island grows quiet, there is a particular opportunity to listen. Watch the changing light from the cliffs at Cala d’Hort and lean into the peace and bathe in the change in frequency.

Here are your Samhain forecasts for Sun or Rising Signs.

Aries

Since April this year, you have been on a new path, but recently the pace may seem more sobering than your preferred speed, this is due to Saturn and Neptune both being retrograde in your sign, giving you a sense of gravity and more need to retreat. Harness these planetary energies by channeling your abundant creativity and building foundations brick by brick. Neptune’s spiritual guidance is at your back.

As the island slows down, let yourself do the same. A walk through the rugged countryside of Es Amunts, in Ibiza’s north-west, may offer the perspective you need. You are not losing momentum, you are learning to give your next chapter something solid to stand on.

Taurus

You’ve just had your full moon, and change is particularly unwelcoming to your space holding self, but Pluto is speaking truth in areas of your life that are ready for a make over and giving you the courage to journey with it into a powerful new chapter, most likely in the realm of your close relationships. Ground yourself in walking meditation in the landscape around Sant Joan.

Gemini

Life has sped up since spring for all Gemini’s and your nerves may feel frayed from all the pivoting and unpredictability. May born Gemini’s in particular are no doubt feeling the electricity and unpredictability of Uranus’ transgression into Gemini in April. But Uranus’ ultimate lesson is liberation, freedom and revolution. Lean into this calling to level up.

Cancer

This season’s retreat energies nourish you, and with Samhain’s lunation being in Cancer, you need to honour your need to nest. You are affected by the lunar cycle more than most, as your ruler is the Moon. The yin energy of Mother Moon asks you to cut out the chatter. When the Moon is in your sign, you are working with a particularly alchemical frequency, one that can heighten intuition and bring emotional truths to the surface.

Give yourself permission to withdraw from the demands of others. Find a quiet corner of the island, perhaps along the pine-lined paths near Portinatx, and listen to what emerges.

Leo

This month you feel driven and abundant as Mars and Jupiter ride together in your sign. As the island enters its quieter season, take the opportunity to step away from the spotlight and reconnect with the part of you that shines without needing an audience.

With three planets in Leo at Samhain and your sign glancing across at Pluto all year, you are leading with a transformative force. As you emerge into your technicolour butterfly next summer, you will see this year’s journey with more clarity.

Virgo

You are in somewhat of a waiting area at present. Next summer the pace will pick up, and you will have to display your extrovert side much more. This Samhain is a time to organise, write and focus on cutting the ropes that tether you.

Don’t let your brilliant multifaceted abilities give people the idea you are available to them at all times. The island’s quieter months offer the perfect opportunity to reclaim your time and energy. Find a table in Santa Gertrudis, put pen to paper and decide what you want to carry forward. You do not need to fill every pause with productivity. Sometimes clarity arrives when you finally allow yourself to stop.

Libra

There has been a focus after your New Moon at the start of October to beautify, connect and release negative partnerships. Venus is circling backwards in your sign, leading to a need to purge old habits of relating and re-examine your relationships. Are they reflecting positive self-worth?

You are being asked to distinguish between genuine harmony and the effort of keeping everyone happy. As Ibiza retreats from the social intensity of summer, take a step back from the expectations surrounding your relationships. Which connections leave you feeling seen, and which ask you to become smaller to maintain the peace?

Scorpio

This is your season, so you walk in these familiar depths with affection. The squares from Pluto and Mars could bring a need to protect your space and hold your ground. Those who feel they can have a piece of your power will be sorely put in their place by your forked tongue, due to Mercury’s presence in your sign.

But beneath the intensity, there is an opportunity to understand what your boundaries are really protecting. You do not need to fight every battle to prove your strength. In this season of endings and renewal, let yourself release the need to control what others think or do. Like the magnetism exuding from Es Vedrà, your power does not need to announce itself. Sometimes the strongest response is to remain rooted in your own truth.

Sagittarius

You will be feeling a spark of ignition, with your fire-sign brethren holding a quiver of planetary energy between them to share with you. There can be a swing between bold action and hesitation. Your dreams are large, but Saturn’s cynicism is asking you to consider their real-world potential and be thorough before working on their manifestation.

The quieter season may feel restrictive to your naturally expansive spirit, but it can also give your ideas room to mature. Take in the wide horizon from the cliffs near Punta Galera and allow yourself to dream without immediately turning every vision into a plan. You are not being asked to abandon your ambitions, only to build them with intention.

Capricorn

Scorpio Season’s gravity and authenticity suits you. You are in the midst of a cycle of confronting the parts of yourself that have been suppressed or rejected, particularly around autonomy, instinct and the unaccepted feminine. You may feel drawn to examine old patterns of control, self-reliance or emotional restraint.

Take inspiration from Sa Caleta, where the remains of an ancient Phoenician settlement are still embedded in the landscape. The past does not disappear simply because we stop looking at it. There is strength in acknowledging what has shaped you, so that it no longer dictates who you become.

Aquarius

January Aquarians will be dancing with the transformative energies of Pluto. The emotional depths it calls for may feel unwelcome, but there is a shamanistic quality to them. You are earning your wisdom. February Aquarians are feeling the pull of the North Node, bringing new chapters of destiny and sometimes unexpected swings in direction, pulling you towards your purpose.

You may find yourself questioning old identities, relationships or ambitions that once seemed untouchable. Rather than forcing an immediate answer, give yourself permission to sit with the uncertainty. As the island grows quieter, the community becomes more intimate and there is room to hear a different perspective emerging.

Pisces

Don’t be swayed by others who may not have such psychic sensitivity. There are so many opportunities for growth, so act from your highly tuned antennae rather than unwelcome advice. The Scorpio Mercury and Cancer Moon this Samhain will be blessing you with keen insight.

You may sense changes in people and situations before they become visible, but this does not mean you need to act on every feeling immediately. Retreat to listen to the whispers. Take a quiet walk along the coast near Cala d’en Serra, or immerse yourself in your element - the ocean. Trust what you sense, let the answers unfold, and resist the urge to force clarity before it is ready.
