The history of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/neck-ties-fashion-trend-shopping" target="_blank" rel="noopener">neckties</a> goes back many centuries, it is believed that the idea of ​​it was born in the 17th century, when Parisians were fascinated by the uniform of Croatian soldiers and its unusual detail - a <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/ways-to-wear-silk-scarf-top-headscarf-trend" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scarf </a>tied around the neck. Historical sources claim that the Romans were the first to tie scarves around their necks, however, the Croatian military uniform became the starting point for the modern necktie. It is said that this is where the French name for the tie, la cravate, came from. Having attracted the attention of the French, this accessory quickly became a fashionable detail of the clothing of the European elite.
The tie as we know it today originated in the 19th century, when the classic tying knot (known as the "four in hand") became popular, allowing men to tie a tie quickly and easily. This asymmetric knot is best suited for looser looks and is loved by many for its simplicity. Later, there were other variations of knotting: double four-in-hand, Prato knot, half Windsor and classic Windsor knots, etc.

Over the course of the decades of the 20th century, the tie went through several changes due to fashion trends: from the thin ties of the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/daisy-jones-and-the-six-70s-style-fashion-outfits-to-buy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1970s</a> to the wide and ornate ones of the 1980s. In the warm season, the Italians Gucci brought back into fashion not only ties, but also scarves, tying with classic shirts or summer silk dresses.
