With Givenchy's Sliced Square ballerina, Sarah Burton strikes a balance between heritage and experimentation, transforming an archetype of the female wardrobe into an object of powerful symbolic value. Drawing on Hubert de Givenchy's 1950s archives, Sarah Burton subverts its codes with a clean, contemporary touch: the graphic, bold cut toe becomes a symbol of a new, more assertive and self-aware elegance. Far from any decorative nostalgia, the Sliced Square interprets the ballerina as a tool of modern expression, capable of combining formal rigour and freedom of movement, restoring an essential, precise, and profoundly contemporary language to femininity.

A new it-bag from Maison Givenchy will be introduced into women's wardrobes for winter 2026. Titled the Pinch Bag, the new bag translates the idea of contemporary elegance into an essential accessory distinguished by a sculptural construction and a decisive, almost architectural closure, which concentrates the design gesture in a single point of tension. Like the Sliced Square ballerinas, the reference to the Maison's tradition is subtle yet present, with rigorous lines, controlled proportions, and an almost couture-like attention to detail. The Pinch Bag doesn't seek immediate iconic impact, but rather affirms a new idea of calibrated luxury, designed to accompany a confident, modern femininity, capable of moving effortlessly between functionality and style statement.
