The greatest success stories are born in garages. Eichholtz is no exception to the rule since it was in front of his parents&#39; that Theo Eichholtz received his first container of goods. The young man, who fell in love with antique colonial furniture in Indonesia, had brought all his finds back to the Netherlands, which his friends were trying to fit into the small room. That was in 1992. Thirty years later, Eichholtz has a 35,000 m 2 warehouse in Noordwijkerhout, near Amsterdam, and a 4,000 m 2 showroom... Of the first best-sellers, Chinese wedding cabinets and Indian two-sided mirrors, nothing remains, except the desire to stand out and the talent to foresee the future “new classics”. Over time, Theo Eichholtz, tired of being copied, had his own models made in Asia. Then was born a style office, which ended up designing an entire ultra-luxurious lifestyle collection for the home, including furniture, accessories, lighting and outdoor furniture. “Our catalog has 3,500 references , underlines Edwin van der Gun, the artistic director. The Eichholtz Style? Glamorous, elegant, timeless, with a je-ne-sais-quoi of Northern European sobriety. White dominates on the sofas and armchairs with their perfect curves, covered in loop fabric of incomparable softness. The tables, in dark wood, match the light fixtures in matt gold metal and alabaster. In the giant showroom, Eichholtz demonstrates his elegant art of living in forty rooms where nothing is missing from a dream life: mirrors, accessories for the bathroom or the fireplace, headboards, rugs, bar, screens, in addition to the living rooms, bedrooms and dining room where bouquets of orchids bloom. “My sources of inspiration are diverse , explains Edwin van der Gun. I can be inspired by the fashion seen in Vogue or Vanity Fair . I really like the Art Deco era, modernism, the glamor of Italy in the 70s. After the pandemic, luxury has become even softer and more enveloping: “we like to stay at home, we set up a comfortable office at home and even a spa” .

A global network

Eichholtz is a B to B brand that sells exclusively to its distributors, architects and decorators. This year, its thirtieth anniversary, marks a turning point in its history as it opens two own flagship stores, one in Miami, the other in Amsterdam. Its other distributors are single-brand stores in Dubai, London, Moscow, Jakarta and Sidney &ndash; and soon in Monaco &ndash; or multi-brand stores, such as the Tendance Inside store in Casablanca.
In addition to the showroom in Noordwijkerhout, Eichholtz has a platform in the United States and soon in Asia. With 95% of its references in stock, the brand makes sure to deliver to its customers in a few days, with the smallest possible carbon footprint. Much of the production was repatriated to Europe. Even though he has sold his business to investors, Theo Eichholtz still keeps an eye on everything. A keen eye on future bestsellers.
