Fashion and television have never been so closely linked as in this moment. In the past it was cinema that fell in love with intriguing stories set between catwalks and ateliers. But today entertainment platforms are increasingly interested in the life of designers and couturiers, thanks to some recent successes that have pushed the streaming majors to turn the spotlight on some reigning names, to make them icons of the small screen. Netflix had also already broadcast the biopic &ldquo;Wonder Boy: Olivier Rousteing&rdquo; on the life of the creative director of Balmain and the Ryan Murphy TV series &ldquo; Halston &rdquo;, played by Ewan McGregor. The same had happened with "Atelier Fontana - The fashion sisters" , an Italian television miniseries directed by Riccardo Milani and produced by Rai Fiction and Lux Vide, or "Made in Italy", a series streamed on the Prime Video platform which recounts the birth of Italian pr&ecirc;t-&agrave;-porter in Milan in 1974. And to complete the overall picture were also investigative projects such as the docuseries "Scouting for Models - The dark face of fashion", part of the Sky catalog and dedicated to retracing the scandal by G&eacute;rald Marie, Linda Evangelista's ex-husband and powerful former president of the Elite modeling agency.

In 2023 &ldquo;Kingdom of Dreams. The new rulers of fashion&rdquo;, a Sky Original TV series arriving on February 25 and March 4 with a double appointment on Sky Documentaries , (later it will also be streamed on NOW, available on demand). Four appointments that will recall a significant historical period for fashion, highlighting the development of creative directors from the 1990s to 2010, explaining how the luxury sector has become a global phenomenon. Four monographic episodes loaded with interviews and materials from the brand archives on John Galliano, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/alexander-mcqueen-show-autumn-winter-2023-2024-collection-photo-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alexander McQueen</a> , Marc Jacobs and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/gucci-show-autumn-winter-2023-2024-photos-images-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tom Ford</a> <a href="https://www.lofficielitalia.com/fashion-week/tom-ford-sfilata-primavera-estate-2023-collezione-uomo-donna-foto-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">.</a> Stylists who with their creativity have managed to obtain worldwide approval thanks also to the two most important luxury holding companies; on the one hand LVMH by Bernard Arnault and on the other Kering with Fran&ccedil;ois Pinault . A period that imagined the contemporary fashion business model and consolidated the fashion capitals in Paris, Milan, London and New York. The TV series will also focus on the grueling struggles between creativity and commerce.

Apple TV+ is also positioned in the film festival dedicated to fashion, which commissioned &ldquo;The New Look&rdquo;, a thriller TV series set during and after the Nazi occupation of Paris, which tells the story of the decline of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/culture/coco-chanel-and-igor-stravinsky-a-mysterious-love-story" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Coco Chanel</a> , overshadowed by the rise of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/dior-womens-show-autumn-winter-2023-24-collection-photo-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Christian Dior</a> . Produced by Apple Studios, &ldquo;The New Look&rdquo; was written and directed by writer-producer Todd A. Kessler (producer of &ldquo;Bloodline,&rdquo; &ldquo;Damages&rdquo; and &ldquo;The Sopranos&rdquo;). Among the protagonists also the Emmy winner for the film "Bloodline", Ben Mendelsohn, who will play Christian Dior, and the Oscar-winning actress for the film "The English Patient" Juliette Binoche in the role of Coco Chanel. The rivalries of the French couturi&egrave;re with competitors of the time such as Pierre Balmain, Hubert de Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and Crist&oacute;bal Balenciaga will also emerge from the series.

A Crist&oacute;bal Balenciaga series will premiere in June 2023 on the Disney+ streaming platform, directed by Jos&eacute; Mari Goenaga, Aitor Arregi and Jon Gara&ntilde;o, set during the period from the Spanish Civil War to the early 1970s. To interpret it will be Alberto San Juan, helped to enter the role thanks to the contextualizations of the costume designer Bina Daigeler and the model maker Pepo Ruiz Dorado.

Also in the making on Disney+ is &ldquo;Kaiser Karl&rdquo; , a series entirely dedicated to the stylist and photographer Karl Lagerfeld. The release was revealed by Jan Koeppen, president of TWDC Emea, on stage at the Lille Dialogues in 2021: &laquo; Kaiser Karl is an example of the kind of stories we want to tell and which, we believe, has not really been valued until now&raquo; . The series, which is based on the biography of Rapha&euml;lle Bacqu&eacute;, will be filmed in France and produced by the Parisian production house Gaumont. And to interpret it &nbsp; it should be Jared Leto.

To celebrate the closing of Milan Fashion Week, the premiere of the docufilm "Milan: The Inside Stories Of Italian Fashion" directed by John Maggio and co-produced by Beaver Lake Pictures, Eagle Pictures and 3Marys Entertainment, in association was presented at the Odeon cinema with Ark Media. 90 minutes in which the stages and stories of the great maisons that have contributed to the history of Italian fashion are retraced. From the first show of Italian fashion &ldquo; First Italian High Fashion Show &rdquo; conceived by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in Florence, the story of Giorgio Armani focusing on the relationship with his life partner Sergio Galeotti , and again the assassins of Maurizio Gucci and Gianni Versace with the stories of their respective fashion brands and testimonials from Tom Ford and Sharon Stone . To enrich the documentary the anecdotes told by Suzy Menkes, Sam Jackson, Rosita Missoni , Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and many others.

Netflix also chronicles the nights at the Blitz Club in London in the documentary &ldquo; Blitzed !&rdquo;. A historic venue in Covent Garden born in the 1980s that helped generate an entire new romantic creative scene, giving birth to postmodern musical groups such as Visage and Spandau Ballet. Within the documentary we find testimonies of the Blitz, the boys who frequented the club, among many the singer Boy George , the costume designer of "Game of Thrones" Michele Clapton, the punk milliner Stephen Jones, and Billy Idol and David appear Bowie. The venue was geographically located between the two art schools, St Martin's School and the Central School, and became a proving ground for the student designers who set London on fire in the 1980s, including John Galliano, the current creative director of Maison Margiela.

&ldquo; Italian Fashion From A to Z&rdquo; is a series of episodes available on the official YouTube channel, created by Grazia D'Annunzio and produced by Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marim&ograve; of New York University. A selection of videos dedicated to the stories of famous Italian stylists and brands that trace the origin of the made in Italy concept. The idea is that of the fashion vocabulary, a simple and effective formula that traces the history of brands with the letters of the alphabet. From pioneers such as Mariano Fortuny , the Thayaht &amp; Ram brothers , Rosa Genoni, via Roberto Capucci, Krizia, Giorgio Armani, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/donatella-versace-interview-fall-winter-2023-collection-runway-looks-photos-los-angeles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Versace</a> and Valentino up to <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/dolce-gabbana-and-kim-kardashian-for-new-collection" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dolce &amp; Gabbana</a>, N&deg;21 and Stella Jean. &nbsp;
