A gentle touch, a friendly handshake - our hands play an essential role in our daily lives and are often a reflection of our health and grooming habits. Unfortunately, cracked nails and dry skin on the hands are common and can make the appearance look unkempt.
With a little more attention and the right care tips, these problems will quickly become a thing of the past.
There is always a cause for every problem. Is it due to the dry cold in winter, are hands coming into contact with water, cleaning products or chemicals too often, is there a disease such as nail fungus? These are very often the reasons why our hands need special care. In general, make sure to wash your hands regularly with a mild soap, especially after contact with potentially harmful substances such as chemicals.
After cleansing, our hands need moisture. Choose a rich hand cream that moisturizes and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/what-is-the-skin-care-breakfast-trend-nutrition-for-skin-care" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nourishes the skin</a> at the same time. Feel free to use the hand cream several times a day.

Brittle fingernails are annoying and look unsightly. Torn fingernails, a chipped nail edge, grooves on the nails - this doesn't have to be the case. One of the most common reasons for this is contact with chemicals. This includes chemical cleaning agents, soaps, washing and dishwashing detergents and nail polish remover.

Other causes include illnesses, side effects of medication, stress, external force on the nails or a lack of nutrients. Important nutrients for strong nails are vitamins from the B complex (especially B7), zinc, magnesium, iron, silicon and protein.

Regular and gentle <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/guide-to-types-of-manicure-gel-french-shellac-acrylic" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nail care</a> makes nails beautiful and strong again. To do this, aggressive filing, cutting or even tearing should be avoided at all costs. Gloves protect our nails when handling chemicals and prevent the problem from getting worse. Oils such as olive, almond, jojoba and evening primrose oils provide the hands with intensive moisture. Olive oil is rich in antioxidants that stimulate the regeneration of skin cells and protect them. <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/curly-hair-care-tips-and-tricks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jojoba oil</a> is rich in vitamin E and therefore provides better moisture. Almond oil has an anti-inflammatory effect. Evening primrose oil contains unsaturated fatty acids and strengthens the skin barrier. We recommend mixing these oils in a 1:1 ratio and regularly taking a hand bath in them.

In general, a sufficient fluid intake of at least 2 liters of <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/soul-spirituality/is-drinking-lemon-water-in-the-morning-good-for-you" target="_blank" rel="noopener">water</a> a day ensures that the skin is optimally nourished. Another tip is to use solid soap when washing your hands. They contain no artificial preservatives and are moisturizing, which means the skin dries out less.

<h4 style="text-align: left;">The beauty trend slugging also helps with dry hands</h4>

For some time now, a beauty trend has been circulating on social media that is supposed to provide intensive skin care overnight: slugging. First used on the face, there are now numerous videos of slugging for the hands or feet. But what is behind it? The most important point is probably Vaseline. Although it does not provide <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/beauty/what-is-omega-3-how-omega-3-aids-skincare" target="_blank" rel="noopener">moisture</a> itself, it protects and cares for the skin. In addition to Vaseline, hyaluronic serum and hand cream are also used in slugging.

First, work the serum into your hands and then apply the hand cream. Once everything has been absorbed, apply a thick layer of Vaseline. Then put on cotton gloves and leave the homemade hand mask on overnight. Your hands will be extremely supple and moisturized the next morning. You can use this mask once or twice a week.
