      <p style="text-align: justify;"><span>Within the tantric tradition, the Great Goddess, also called Shakti, is above all other gods. It is the active energy, the Sacred Feminine, but it is only fully in communion with the Sacred Masculine. And both are within every human being. Studying this philosophical and ritualistic thinking that influenced Hindus, Buddhists and Jains, designer Regina Dabdab also observed sexual union within the ritualistic process - both practical and mental - that culminates in expansion of the mind and breath, and liberation of the body.</span></p>
      <p style="text-align: justify;"><span>In the most recent series, developed by four hands with art director Roberta Cardoso, erogenous zones inspire nine jewels between earrings and brooches. "We named it Maithuna, which is a Sanskrit term used in tantra. This small collection is a creative reflection on a taboo that can no longer be taboo", explains Regina, highlighting issues such as feminism and the movement of body changes that are in the focus of both. "It is also an act of resistance", he ponders. Molded in bronze with certified gold plating or in silver, the pieces recieve more rounded organic-cut stones. "I used pearl, coral, rose quartz, amazonite, black tourmaline, red jasper and blue quartz", lists the designer, drawing attention to the energetic properties of each gem.</span></p>

They are silhouettes of breasts and clitoris, for example, sometimes subtle, sometimes more prominent. “On the phalluses, we use the tip of the crystal,” says Regina. In addition to tantric teachings, the duo also sought inspiration from the book</span> <span>Erotica</span> <span>, in which French artist and poet Jean Cocteau brought together drawings by two of his most famous lovers – writer Raymond Radiguet and actor Jean Marais – as well as names such as Picasso, Stravinsky, Nijinsky, Apollinaire, Sarah Bernhardt, Isadora Duncan and Mistinguett. And yet, the writings on identity and the social and political construction of sex by the transgender feminist philosopher and writer Paul Beatriz Preciado. “It was really cool to dive into this universe because it made us talk more about sexuality versus spirituality, physical versus psychological”, explains the designer, who defines herself in a moment of expansion that is reflected in the opening of new professional paths.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"> <span>Known for her</span> <span>organic jewelry</span> <span>, started in 2009 when she was still living in Paris, Regina has always looked to nature in search of materials such as balsa wood, raw crystals and seeds to create jewelry-sculptures influenced by the fauna and flora of the Amazon rainforest and countless visits.</span> <span style="font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-variant-caps: inherit; letter-spacing: 0px;">to natural history museums. This direct connection with pure elements has given talismanic status to pieces that can dress the body or the house. Recently, without forgetting its DNA, it has made room for less conceptual jewelry, which transits between various agendas.</span></p></div><div class="column"><p style="text-align: justify;"> <span>But it was at SP-Arte this year that the horizon really showed new paths. For Casa do Povo, she signed the</span> <span>Comum Presença</span> project <span>together with Daniel Lie. There were 30 works created from fragments found in the building and that could encapsulate affective memories that remained in this territory. Transformed into amulets, the objects were donated to the House, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary. “It was interesting to realize the gems that I had in my hands and that sculptures could be born from there”, recalls Regina, who is also developing objects with Llussá Marcenaria and created jewelry within her language for the costumes that Alexandre Herchcovitch created for the TV miniseries Culture on the 200th anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence. And all this promises to be just the beginning, after all, the designer says that she is loving this phase of her career. May new challenges and partnerships come!</span></p></div></div></div></div>
