The collection was presented at Sunken Garden, a rock garden designed by Isamu Noguchi beneath 28 Liberty in Manhattan. Black basalt blocks interspersed with bright granite create a tranquil, almost minimalist space, allowing the garments to be the focal point. The theme song from The Shining plays as guests enter Sunken Garden, hinting at a dark performance. But that&#39;s just a deliberate distraction. Contrary to the film&#39;s tone, this season focuses on joy and optimism. “I think about how people need an escape, and need to heal something,” Burch shared. From there, she juxtaposed luxurious femininity with the functionality of sportswear, allowing the two extremes to coexist in one wardrobe. References to the austere times of World War II also contributed to shaping that spirit. When silk and nylon were allocated for military purposes, women used to draw a line along the back of their legs to create the illusion of wearing stockings. Today, the need for escape no longer stems from material deprivation, but the desire for beauty and solace remains. For Burch, fashion thus becomes a way to find joy.

On the runway, that idea was expressed through details that deliberately broke the mold. Granny-style cardigans were miniaturized, with wrinkled plackets as if the wrong buttons had been fastened; multi-layered beaded necklaces were strung together with oversized shark teeth. Surprise crept into the way the designs were combined, allowing elaborate elements to stand alongside everyday choices without a clear distinction.
