No one can ever truly predict what the <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/kim-kardashian-met-gala-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Met Gala theme</a> will be each year, but this year's theme in particular caused a special amount of shockwaves. Last year it was announced that the theme of the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/met-gala-2023-details-karl-lagerfeld-theme-hosts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2023 Met Gala</a> is "In Honor of Karl," a commemorative sentiment to celebrate the visionary works and mass impact of the late designer. Of course, the unveiled theme begged the question, what should the attendees wear?
Fortunately, <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/cara-delevingne-claudia-schiffer-karl-lagerfeld-muses-fashion-legacy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lagerfeld's</a> extensive fashion career leaves decades of inspiration to pull from. For some, we may have the opportunity to witness celebrities decked in archival <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/karl-lagerfeld-the-women-muses-schiffer-delevingne-ceretti" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lagerfeld</a> designs. For others, we'll likely see designers reference various Lagerfeld works for their own creations for the evening. The late designer has quite the resume working with labels (including <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/chloe-towards-the-sun-in-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chlo&eacute;</a> and his eponymous brand), though he is best known for helming Fendi and Chanel. Having begun his <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/fashion/fendi-couture-spring-summer-2023" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fendi</a> journey in 1965 and <a href="https://www.lofficielibiza.com/portraits/chanel-beauty-interview-thomas-du-pre-de-saint-maur" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chanel</a> in 1983, there is certainly no shortage of vintage pieces to pull from.&nbsp;
