Set in the stately setting of L&#39;Orangerie at the Château de Versailles, Jacquemus&#39; Spring/Summer 2026 collection, Le Paysan (The Farmer), unfolds as an emotional tribute to founder Simon Porte Jacquemus&#39; rural heritage.

A boy runs around in a garden covered in green, frolicking in the purple fields of Provence, living in a house with carrots on one side and artichokes and spinach on the other. Images of workers working hard in the fields, they also appear next to baskets of produce on the roadside, with grandmother Claire dressed all in black, squinting in the sun, posing next to a basket of green vegetables. This scene is part of the memories of the young Simon Porte Jacquemus, he brought them to the stage, interweaving memories and imagination, transforming the quiet poetics of simple rural life into sculptural cuts and sophisticated sewing details. &ldquo;I wanted to create an autobiographical journey for June: starting from the countryside, soft and minimalist, with linen as the base. From there, it gradually evolved, blossoming into a feast of candy colours, stripes, embroidery and prints. The colours appeared one by one, connecting with each other, culminating in a completely couture look, &rdquo; Simon shared.
It can be seen that this show is more autobiographical than usual, bringing the desire to elevate the resonance with Jacquemus' passion for couture, but at the same time containing emotional drawers of old memories, such as aprons, petticoats, plus fours, kerchiefs,... The collection, therefore, is also named Le Paysan, meaning "The Farmer".

Known for his shows in prominent locations such as lavender fields, salt flats or magnificent mansions, Jacquemus returned to the Palace of Versailles this time, choosing the Orangerie - a large, rustic space with only a row of wooden benches, opening up a view of the orange grove outside through the window. Jacquemus shared that his family, although not well-off, never stopped him from dreaming of a fashion career. His mother once proudly wore a dress that the 8-year-old boy "designed" from linen curtains and Converse shoelaces to pick her up from school. A master storyteller, Jacquemus recreates that memory in the teaser video, with the image of the blond boy staring intently at the woman driving, his eyes sparkling as if dreaming of Parisian ateliers and glamorous catwalks.
Jacquemus opened the show on a sunny Sunday afternoon, with a blond boy running down the catwalk, opening tall doors to let models out of the garden, like a childhood dream come true. The first model entered, wearing a flared skirt and an oversized white shirt that resembled a loose-fitting apron. A series of similar dresses followed. The women&rsquo;s collection embraced the free spirit with billowing jupon skirts, tulle aprons and form-fitting jackets. Poplin was cut into geometric patterns reminiscent of vintage tablecloths in delicate embroidery, polka dots and monogram prints.
Minimalist tank dresses, still keeping the apron effect but more restrained in cream and black. Jacquemus worked rustic fabrics like cotton poplin and linen into striking geometric shapes, including a tiered dress. A leather jacket, inspired by the French sweet made from almonds and candied fruit Callison. However, there were also fluttering chiffon bat-sleeves and delicately embroidered tulle halterneck dresses that curved around the body.

The craftsmanship continues to shine through in standout designs such as the bobbin tulle dress, made from 700 metres of sheer mousseline and lace, decorated with a diamond pattern in silk taffeta. The dresses are embellished with sculptural fringes and intricate handcrafted details.
Meanwhile, menswear appears rustic and sophisticated. Short jackets and wide-leg trousers are processed in linen and smooth leather, accented with prominent topstitching or delicate herringbone cuts. The main colour palette includes: milky white, cream, black, along with bright blue, pink, and yellow tones reminiscent of sweet almond candy and classic Berlingot stripes.
A variety of accessories are inspired by country materials, such as berets and scarves. In addition, there are accessories that recall the markets of the South of France, such as leather onions, fruits, etc. Jacquemus' famous woven bags also return in typical Proven&ccedil;al materials, alongside the new bag design &ldquo;Le Valerie,&rdquo; named after the designer's mother.
