In 1997, the fashion designer and creative director of accessories and prêt-à-porter collections at <a href="https://www.instagram.com/fendi/">Fendi</a> , <a href="https://www.instagram.com/silviaventurinifendi/">Silvia Venturini Fendi</a> , started with the idea of creating a bag inspired by how French women carried the famous long and narrow bread : Baguette . This resulted in the Baguette Bag : a small and practical bag, characterized by its rectangular dimension, its small strap and the double F logo that closes the flap.

When Venturini Fendi presented her idea to the Italian fashion house, the reception was not what she expected. Many refused, they did not imagine the success that it could have. However, they found out they were wrong when the much- loved character from the Sex &amp; The City series Carrie -played by Sarah Jessica Parker- popularized this design with her purple sequined Baguette Bag. The scene is a milestone: Carrie is mugged and has to hand over her beloved bag. With a gun pointed at her, the thief orders her to immediately hand over her bag, to which Carrie replies, &quot;It&#39;s a baguette.&quot; A scene that marked a before and after in the 90s, which shows that fashion defends itself at all times.
