Miu Miu celebrates reading with an outdoor literary tour in five major cities.

While everything is going at a thousand miles an hour, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/industry-trends/miu-miu-upcycled-par-catherine-martin-le-passe-comme-promesse-d-avenir" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miu Miu</a> offers a moment of calm and intimacy, an invitation to reconnect with <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/pop-culture/trois-romans-trois-regards-les-pepites-litteraires-de-ce-mois-de-juin" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reading</a> and contemporary thought. For the second edition of Miu Miu Summer Reads, the Italian fashion house transforms some of the most beautiful urban green spaces- in Beijing, Hong Kong, Milan, Osaka and Paris- into places of reflection and communion around words. This cultural project will take place on June 27 and 28 in the first four cities and on June 28 and 29 in Osaka.

A sensory and intellectual experience

Conceived as a tribute to women's literature and the power of words, Miu Miu Summer Reads offers the public an immersive journey through gardens carefully chosen for their atmosphere and beauty. Each city will be distinguished by a specific colour and a symbolic bookplate, a refined nod to the world of books. Visitors will be able to sit, read, exchange and reflect in a space conducive to contemplation.
At the centre of this edition are two major female authors of the 20th century: Simone de Beauvoir, the essential French thinker and novelist and Fumiko Enchi , a key figure in Japanese literature. On this occasion, participants will receive a complimentary copy of Les Ins&eacute;parables or Femmes enattente, the respective works of the two writers, presented in an exclusive edition signed by <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/industry-trends/coco-gauff-incarne-l-elegance-sportive-pour-new-balance-x-miu-miu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miu Miu</a> &mdash; with a personalized dust jacket, bookmark, book clip and stamp.

A journey between continents and thoughts

The choice of locations alone embodies a poem: <ul data-start="1759" data-end="2418"><li data-start="1759" data-end="1869" style="text-align: justify;"> In Beijing , Chaoyang Park will host the readings on June 27 (11 a.m.–8 p.m.) and 28 (10 a.m.–8 p.m.). </li><li data-start="1870" data-end="2023" style="text-align: justify;"> In Hong Kong , meet at the Competition Pavilion in West Kowloon Art Park on the same days, between 12pm and 8pm on the 27th, and from 11am to 8pm on the 28th. </li><li data-start="2024" data-end="2127" style="text-align: justify;"> In Milan , the Giardino delle Arti , Via Palestro, will become a haven of words, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. </li><li data-start="2128" data-end="2310" style="text-align: justify;"> In Paris , the birthplace of one of the two authors being honored, the Bibliothèque nationale de France (rue Vivienne) will play the game on June 27 (1 p.m.–7 p.m.) and 28 (10 a.m.–7 p.m.). </li><li data-start="2311" data-end="2418"> Finally, in Osaka , Umekita Park will vibrate to the rhythm of the pages turned on June 28 and 29 (11 a.m.–7 p.m.).</li></ul>

Simone de Beauvoir (1908&ndash;1986), philosopher, novelist and independent thinker, left her mark on the 20th century with her reflections on the condition of women. A close friend of Jean-Paul Sartre, her life and work challenged established norms. The Inseparables, a posthumous account, traces the deep bond that united her with her friend Zaza, in a tender and heartbreaking fresco of stifled female emancipation.
Fumiko Enchi (1905&ndash;1986), for her part, gave voice to generations of Japanese women marked by silence. In Women in Waiting, she subtly explores the shadowy areas of desire, submission, and power in a patriarchal society. Enchi successfully blended classical literary tradition with modern psychological analysis in a style of rare intensity.

A project at the crossroads of culture and fashion

With Summer Reads, Miu Miu not only dresses bodies but also minds. This project is a declaration of love for literature and cultural transmission, but also a political gesture-because reading, today, is an act of gentle resistance.
