Jeddah Islamic Arts Biennial Explores the Sacred in Contemporary Art

Saudi Arabia’s second largest city, Jeddah, known for its historic center, a UNESCO heritage site, but above all as an important hub for pilgrims heading to Mecca and Medina, hosts the Islamic Arts Biennial until May 25, titled “And All That Is In Between,” a phrase from the Koran that presupposes that there are truths that go beyond the physical. Muhannad Shono, curator of the contemporary area, tells us about it.
