Launched as part of Milano Design Week 2026, the Baguette 26424 Re-Edition includes iconic versions that will be on display at Palazzo FENDI Milano from April 17th.

Inspired by FENDI's archives, this collection reimagines the original 1997 Baguette design with a softer structure, enhancing the natural underarm wearing experience.
Twenty designs, including six exclusive editions dedicated to the city of Milan, are completed with a special Re-Edition metal tag and a wooden packaging box reminiscent of art containers, personalised with stencil printing techniques, secured with a gold canvas strap and a metal logo clasp.

&ldquo;I have a bag full of cookies, the kind with little slips of paper hidden inside. I took them from the restaurant,&rdquo; Marilyn Monroe tells Truman Capote (in *A Beautiful Child*). They were standing on the South Street pier: she was unadorned, her hair wrapped in a chiffon scarf. No one recognised her. In complete anonymity, Marilyn fed the seagulls, and she loved it&mdash;that&rsquo;s why she &ldquo;stole&rdquo; the cookies. Like an ordinary woman, she strolled through the windows, lamenting that she had never had a real home, and then envisioned the day she would: &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll buy a dozen grandfather clocks, arrange them in a room, and have them all chime at once.&rdquo;
That afternoon, an ordinary woman walked through the streets of New York. And it was along the riverbank, amidst the crowd, that Truman Capote saw Marilyn&mdash;the truest version of herself.
"If one day someone asks my brother what kind of person Marilyn Monroe really was, what would he answer?" she asked.
The writer sees through the star's brilliance by looking into her bag. That bag is Marilyn, a bag full of cookies. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that for every woman, the world she carries in her bag is her true self. So, let those infinite selves be revealed.
Nearly three decades after its creation (1997), with the Baguette Re-Edition, Maria Grazia Chiuri didn't just stop at "looking at" the bag; she turned it inside out.

The rebirth of the bag today, multiplied into countless versions, is also a clear statement: every woman can be whoever she wants to be. There are no stereotypes; create your own. And above all, fashion is not just a market but a message to spread, not just an object of desire but a philosophy of life: individuality does not transcend beauty &ndash; individuality is beauty.
