"Dior is deeply saddened to announce the accidental death of Mathilde Favier," reads a statement released by the French fashion house. "In her role as director of public relations, Mathilde Favier made an extraordinary contribution to the reputation of Christian Dior Couture through her commitment and elegance. She was an exceptional woman whose infectious joy, talent, and loyalty were exemplary."

Delphine Arnault , president and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, echoed the house's words: "Mathilde loved life with passion. With her passing, Dior has lost an incredible professional and I have lost a loyal friend. Her optimism and courage were admirable. We will all miss her smile and her talent deeply. Today, I am deeply saddened; my thoughts are with her children, her mother, her sisters, her family, her many friends, and her team, whom she loved so much." Jonathan Anderson , creative director of Dior, shared a personal tribute through the house's channels: "I am heartbroken by the passing of Mathilde Favier. We all owe so much to her work and dedication. She brought a unique warmth and energy and was the most positive and enthusiastic person I have ever met. Mathilde was the very embodiment of elegance, and in many ways, the spirit of Couture ." Bernard Arnault , president of LVMH, recalled how the woman had for "many years put her passion, her energy and her talent at the service of the house of Dior".
